Sensitive to the obsolescence we give to
things, I question our current consuming habits. I distance myself from
the original use of an object and I look at what we call ?rubbish? with a
new eye; I make it my own and use it as raw material and even as a subject
(for example I have painted the contents of bins in New York, I have also
done a series on a family?s weekly rubbish with a child.)
Nowadays I use the fliers that normally make a short journey from the
letter box to the bin. I give them a new life in the shape of collages.
These cut out bits of paper become my main material and I apply them like
impressionist strokes of paint to compose landscapes.
All the works were made exclusivey
with fliers I found in my letterbox.
I found inspiration for the subjects and landscapes from my own personal
travel photographs.
